Retool bills three user types separately: builders, internal users and external users, with the rate changing by plan and by whether the user edited anything that month. A VP of Engineering wrote on G2 in April 2025 that "the pricing model is hard to make it work when your user base is big," and an IT Manager noted in May 2026 that the price rises quickly once advanced controls are needed. Jestor charges one flat monthly price for the whole company: every employee, every client, every supplier, on every plan.

Retool proxies queries to your own data sources and does not store that data. Jestor is a relational database and an operations system in one, so the data, the workflows and the interfaces live in the same place.
